Founded in 1968 by Armen Boladian, Westbound Records is one of the most experimental and influential independent record labels in history. From its home in Detroit, MI, Westbound and sister label Eastbound, released a string of albums in the 1970s that would forever change how the world would see Soul and Funk. The influence of the sounds committed to wax for the label is still being felt today.
